Happy ending for Maxine & Ruby

My name is Katie and my fiance, my daughter, and I adopted two out of three of the Chihuahuas you got on Saturday 5/22. Originally, we came for only one dog. When we brought one into the little room to play with her, she was so scared that she barely even sniffed us. We decided to ask to bring the other female in the room with us to get a feel for which one was more friendly. They immediately clung together and were sniffing eachother's noses, almost like kissing eachother. Our hearts totally melted, and we knew we couldn't seperate them.

Originally, the names the Kentucky shelter gave them were Anne and Catherine. Being that my name is Katherine... I didn't think that was a good idea to keep these names. My almost 3 year old daughter loves Max and Ruby (Nick Jr. cartoon bunny sibilings) so we named the girls Maxine and Ruby. They are such sweethearts. Within the first day they totally warmed up to us and they are SO great with my young daughter. My daughter took food out of their bowls while they were eating their first bowl of food in our home, and they didn't even acknowledge her. No nipping or growling at all. They are such snuggly lap dogs. When they aren't on our laps, they are cuddling tightly on their new pillow bed. They cuddle in their crate at night and when one goes outside, the other goes to. They do everything together. They even lick eachother's faces and ears to groom one another. They were meant to stay together, and I am so happy we made the decision to adopt both of them.

Yesterday I brought them to the vet for their first check up. They are heartworm and parasite free, and they are very healthy. They need to gain a little bit of weight, but we can definitely help them get to a reasonable weight. Afterall, they were abandoned and obviously underfed. This will for sure never be an issue for them again! We can't get enough of them. They have not been chewing anything and seem to understand that they have to go outside to "do their business". They love laying around in the sun in our backyard, and they have plenty to sniff an explore!!

I have been searching petfinder.com for weeks and watching the TLC website (which is very consistently updated!) and we were waiting for these pooches to get to TLC on Saturday. I knew one of them was meant for us, so we got there an hour and a half early to make sure we'd be there at their arrival time. Little did we know we'd have two new sweethearts in our lives.

I have been so blessed to have a happy healthy daughter, and a wonderful fiance... and I thought my family couldn't get any better. I was wrong. These two pups have made the perfect addition to our family, and without a doubt our home will be their "forever home." Thanks!

Happy ending for Twinkie

Hello everyone, This is a happy ending story about the only surviving kitten of the litter. Twinkie and Peanut were adopted in January and were found to have an illness that has a 90 percent mortality rate. Through care and love, my wife Sheri and I were able to save one kitten............Twinkie. He is now 6 months old and has beaten the illness and is doing great. TLC thank you for all your support and our 6 cat family.

all the best

Happy ending for Brewster

Two summers ago, we adopted Brewster (formerly Leo) and couldn’t be any happier with the way everything turned out. He has been the best dog we could have imagined, his tail never stops wagging! He visits the dog park daily and has many dog friends and even more human friends. He has earned the title of “King of the House” but we don’t mind as we love all the humorous things he does such as barking at the occasional stuffed animal, sleeping upside down while snoring loudly and his unique running style (think of a rabbit, hopping around). He has become a permanent member of our family and we couldn’t imagine life without him. Thanks TLC!!

Happy ending for Bogie

This is Bogie, when we adopted him his name was Doogie. He was a little scruffy looking but very cute even still. He was 5 months old so who knows what the little guy had been through or where he'd been, we were told he came from Kentucky. Anyway, we had him groomed and a check up and he is doing great and gets along with our other dog Trixi who is 12. He is such a happy little guy. He sleeps through the night in bed with all of us and is for the most part potty trained. He loves all of his toys but especially loves mealtime and running around the fenced yard. He wakes us up every morning with kisses to let us know he is so grateful for being adopted.
