Tribute to Animal Shelter workers & volunteers & those that support these efforts

Sandi O'Brien made this video a few years ago for TLC, and this time of year seems so apropos to replay it, as it is as true today as it was then.  So many animals have been saved because you saw the need and you showed you cared!

When you watch this video remember YOU are a very important part of these efforts to save the lives of so many animals!  Beautiful companion animals that have no way out, there wouldn't be any future for them, if we didn't step in to help.  YOU are the backbone of these efforts!  Without your support we could not do what we are doing to save so many animals here and those coming from remote areas where adoptions are few and far between.  YOUR caring and generosity has enabled us to help abandoned, abused, and neglected cats and dogs, receiving the care that they need while awaiting their forever homes.  Thank you seems so little to say for all that YOU have done, but I am sure when you watch this video, you will realize how important you are to every animal that has been saved.......

If you are doing Christmas shopping on line through Amazon, you can use Amazon Smile and without costing you a penny more your purchase will generate a donation for Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter in Homer Glen. What a great way to help our furry friends. Just go to Amazon Smile and when it asks which organization you would like to raise money for pick Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter, it's as simple as that. Remember it does not cost you a cent as long as you do your shopping through Amazon Smile Thank you!

If you are afraid to come in because of social distancing take a look. Although we are not letting children into the building, we have a large side yard for you and the family to meet any of the dogs you might be interested in. If you are looking for a cat we can let you and your family use our getting to know you room inside which we constantly disinfect. We alos have plenty of handsanitizer available

9/19/20

We will have a table with sign in sheet out front, after you sign in take a number from the post it pad. There is hand sanitizer on the table too so please feel free to use it

PLEASE PRINT YOUR NAME AND CELL PHONE #
TAKE A NUMBER AND WE WILL CALL YOU
If you don’t have a cell phone please take a number, where it asks for a cell # write no cell and we will get to you. Also jot down the time you arrived. This will make it easier for people to sit in their cars and wait if they wish and not have to stand outside unless you feel like it
SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE BUT DURING THESE COVID TIMES WE NEED TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE SHELTER AT A TIME. Thank you for understanding.

Also because of space limitations we are asking children and teens not to come in just the adult who can sign the adoption contract. Please have a responsible adult watch your child/children. We are more than happy to bring whatever dog you are thinking of adopting outside to meet the rest of your family. We have plenty of benches and outdoor area for meet and greets. As for cats and kittens we will allow other family members into our meet and greet room for a period of 10 minutes once the family member who will be signing the adoption contract has picked one out.

I know a lot of you have commented and emailed me about wanting to adopt certain animals. I am assuming we will have a very busy day. Under the circumstances please be considerate of our staff, they are under a lot of stress trying to do adoptions under these conditions, and help everyone. Please wear your mask, no casual browsing just to kill boredom, only 1 or 2 family members in at a time. As much as we like children, please keep them outside with a responsible adult and if there is a certain dog that you like it can be brought outside to meet the rest of your family. Please remember social distancing. We are doing the best we can and we applaud our staff for all they are doing. Thank you for following our rules during this pandemic we are doing the best we can.  We will be open to at least 3:00
